Northern Fuel Distributors specializes in the supply, transportation and delivery of bulk fuel. Northern Fuel Distributors delivers fuel in bulk to Agricultural-, Commercial, Mining and Retail customers.

Northern Fuel Distributors was founded in Otjiwarongo in 2001 and has been involved in the fuel industry ever since. In recent years Northern Fuel Distributors evolved into a national role player in the supply and delivery of fuel in Namibia. Its customer base covers the whole area of Namibia from north to south and east to west.

Mr. Johan Botes and Mr. Pierre Fourie are the members and joint owners of the Close Corporation. Northern Fuel Distributors is expanding as a direct result of our individualized service and our clients’ invitation to continue our dedication to meet their ever-growing demand and requirements.

Northern Fuel Distributors procure, deliver, store and sell fuel in bulk. All its fuel deliveries to its customers are affected with its own fleet of fuel tanker trucks.

In 2007 the company erected its own bulk fuel depot in Otjiwarongo. The depot has a capacity to store 700 000lt of fuel within immediate reach of our clients and to further enhance our level of service. The depot further provides the company with strategic back-up when fuel stock levels are low on a national level. NFD is the only private company, apart from the oil companies, whom owns its own bulk fuel storage facility in Namibia.

Commercial Services

Fuel supplies

Northern Fuel Distributors supplies the customers with a high quality and standard product. NFD buys fuel from the major oil companies in Namibia and therefore the quality of the product is guaranteed.

Northern Fuel Distributors procures its fuel from various suppliers. Northern Fuel Distributors combines all the volumes of its customers into one large buying pool. This enables Northern Fuel Distributors to negotiate best possible pricing structures with the various suppliers. The customers benefit directly from these low prices.

Lubricants and grease

Northern Fuel Distributors supply a wide range of world class and leading brands of lubricants and greases for possible purposes. Our lubricants are used in all industries and all applications for mining, industrial, commercial, transportation and agriculture. The lubricants are used in engines, transmission, gearboxes, hydraulics, transformers etc.

Retail Services

Introduction

Petrosol was established as a natural outflow of the retail business which NFD established over the years of its existence. The retail portion of the business grew over the years and the next step was to consolidate the retail business under a sperate brand.

In 2010 we started working on the retail concept. We had a registered and operational entity under the name PETROSOL PETROLEUM SOLUTIONS CC and a decision was taken to use the “PETROSOL” part of the name and develop that into a full-fledged brand and so “PETROSOL” was created.

NFD was already an established role-player in the fuel industry and it could provide all the logistical back-up and support to establish the retail division under the new brand.

Concepts

The Petrosol retail service station operates on a few basics concepts:

Company owned dealer operated sites: Petrosol is the owner/lessee and developer of the retail site and appoints a dealer to operate the site as his own business.
Dealer owned and dealer operated: The dealer and the owner of the site is the same person.

In all instances Petrosol is the supplier of the fuel to the retail site.

For the near future Petrosol plan to introduce a franchised convenience store concept under the name “iLAMO”. Ilamo is means “Come In” in the local indigenous Oshiwambo language.

The main focus of Petrosol is to construct cheaper, small compact service stations in the small towns and rural areas of Namibia, which can be managed by owner operators. Large flagship sites are also being constructed but the main focus in the short terms are for the smaller sites.

Value proposition

Petrosol provide first class service to its customers. We offer our clients the opportunity to own and manage a fuel retail outlet without all the hassles and prescriptions of the large franchise holders. We aim keep the cost of the construction of the site to the minimum through the following:

Petrosol assist the client with the planning of the site and all approval and licencing processes
Petrosol has team of enigeers and draftsman who does the drawings and layouts at very competitive prices
Petrosol procure and supply some of the fuel equipment on the sites free of charge
Petrosol assist with the construction and installation of the fuel equipment and forecourt by our own team at very competitive rates.
Petrosol provide the branding and the maintenance of the equipment for free.
